Shaniya Davis's funeral will take place in a couple of hours. Thousands mourning the death of Shaniya Davis will head to a church in Fayetteville, NC to pay their final respects to the late 5 year old and her family. The entire story behind Shaniya Davis's death is tragic. Her mother either sold or allowed her to be placed in the care of the man who allegedly raped and murdered her, discarding her on the side of a North Carolina highway.

The world always is saddened whenever a young child goes missing. Although there are unique cases where missing children return months - even years later, such cases are almost unheard of. If a child is missing for over 24 hours, their chances of survival are slim. Shaniya Davis, a 5 year old that couldn't even defend herself, didn't have a chance.

Shaniya Davis was reported missing by her mother, Antoinette Davis. At first, authorities didn't suspect that the mother was involved in her disappearance. After the investigation pressed on, her mother was charged with various crimes such as human trafficking, prostitution, and child abuse. She is behind bars for her involvement in her daughter's disappearance, despite being pregnant.

Mario Andrette McNeill is the prime suspect in the case. Authorities had enough evidence against him that they charged him with murder, kidnapping, rape, and other charges related to her death. Shaniya Davis was last seen alive on a hotel surveillance camera in the arms of McNeill.

Shaniya Davis's funeral is open to the public, giving the public a unique opportunity to visit the family and show their support. Shaniya's father, Bradley Lockhart, has even appeared on Oprah thanking the world for their support. It is not believed that he was involved in Shaniya's death or disappearance.

The exact location of the Shaniya Davis funeral is 5117 Cliffdale Road, Fayetteville. The funeral will take place at the Manna Church. The funeral is planned for 3 pm central, meaning many are probably already on their way to the church as we speak.

Those that cannot make it to the Shaniya Davis funeral can make a donation at their local Wachovia Bank. Donations will go to the family. Those not comfortable giving money to the family can also opt to make a donation to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children or a local child protective services agency.

    A lot of people speak out and say that the father should be punished that how can he...Well i believe he was punished enough the day he got that news about his angle never returning to his arms. How can we judge him say he is as guilty as the murder i don't believe that he saw different in the mother of his child and wanted a
    woman figure to be around his child and who other than her mother could it have been. The father is not guilty of anything but trying to give the other parent a chance in being a part of there child life i don't blame him he is human and he forgives.My prayers go out to the family of the little girls

    Her mother is so low down and dirt for what she did, and god doesn't like ugly she need's to get sent to hell for what she did. And she know in the first place she didn't want her she should give to her father for good. And it's so many people out in this world that can't have kids, and her mother do her like that over drugs she one stupid parent.

    shaniya nicole davis was a very outqoinq five year old never messed with anyone she would always talk about how muched she wanted to be a teacher as she qrew up and my opinion torwards her mother is that why would she ever sale niya for prostitution now no one will never forqive her rip lil "niya

    i went to the place where they found the little angle and i held my own kids and cried i think that the monster that gave birth should go thru the same ordeal so she knows how that baby felt her last few hour on earth and i just cant start on mario there are no word for him

    I live in Fayetteville I also attened the candle light vigil for little Shaniya I think it is ashame that people are blaming her father this man is greiving for his precious daughter he is not the one to blame here. There are plenty of people who failed Shaniya but her father is not one of them. I do not know this family but may God bless them and I will continue to pray for this family.

    it is my understanding that mr lockhart has 5 children by 3 different black women. so it's certainly not a case of him not wanting to raise a black child.

    I was really amazed to see the disappearance of a black child on national news and then people searching the woods. How amazing to see the media outpouring for a black child. Amazing. Then I saw her dad on Oprah. White. Now I understand.

    That is such a cruel comment to make. It is very obvious that Shaniya's father loved his "Angel" dearly. True, her mother was not a responsible individual. However, it is not her father's fault. He thought he was doing what was right by trying to allow the mother to have a relationship w/their child. My heart goes out to him. And I will continue to pray for his strength as he deals w/such a tragedy.
