Shank's Mare is located in Wrightsville, Pennsylvania along the Susquehanna River. Located in a general store from the late 1800's (http://www.shanksmare.com/), Shank's Mare is a great outdoor outfitter that also specializes in kayak classes and rentals.

Open Monday-Friday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from Noon to 5 p.m., they are available often to help you with your outdoor equipment needs.

Shank's Mare has a large water entrance for non-motor boats to enter the calm waters of the Susquehanna River. Just a distance into the River, boaters can enjoy paddling to an island, and exploring the River's wildlife.

Trainers are available to teach kayaking techniques through a series of different class options. A café is also available for coffee and ice cream, as well as live music on Friday evenings. Besides water training, eco-tours, and winter explorations are also available from the store and their staff.

Inside, you'll be greeted by their teddy bear dog who is happy to have her belly rubbed for hours on end, while you explore the ample supply of kayaks and outdoor gear that can be purchased inside the Susquehanna House. There is also a special meeting room available for rent, and is a beautiful location for meetings and conferences directly on the Susquehanna River.
