Shannon Price met Gary Coleman in 2006 on the set of Church Ball, a comedy and family movie about a Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS) basketball team who must go from losers to winners in the last year of the church tournament. Besides Coleman, the movie starred Fred Willard, Andrew Wilson, Clint Howard, Ross Brockley, Curt Dousett and Larry Bagby.
Gary Coleman and Shannon Price wed in a secret ceremony five months after they began dating, reportedly because Price didn't want to be known simply as "Gary Coleman's wife". Price had a successful eBay company prior to the marriage, and, according to Right Celebrity, Coleman commented, "I wouldn't want that in a million years. I wouldn't want you to be known as Gary Coleman's wife. I hope you do get successful. She's a great e-Bayer. She's a fabulous e-Bayer. I hope she gets famous for that."
During their tumultuous marriage, both Gary Coleman and Shannon Price had trouble with the law due to their arguments that frequently turned violent. Coleman was arrested July 26, 2007, after a police officer witnessed Coleman and Price in a heated argument and cited for misdemeanor disorderly conduct. Price was arrested July 3, 2009 for domestic violence, and both parties were cited for the domestic dispute for disorderly conduct.
Price and Coleman divorced on August 12, 2008, not quite a year after they married. The two ended up going to Divorce Court in dispute over their divorce settlement.
On May 28, 2010, Gary Coleman died from complications after falling and hitting his head and suffering a hematoma from an epidural given while in the hospital for treatment.
The two stayed together after the divorce, with Price mentioning to Entertainment Tonight on June 7, 2010, "I was upstairs in the bed [during the fall]". Price was also the one who placed the 911 call following Coleman's fall the week before.
Shannon Price took pictures of Coleman on his death bed in the hospital, hooked up to tubes and machines. She also snapped some shots of Coleman after he passed away. Price shopped the photos around, and ended up selling them for an undisclosed amount (reported by TMZ to be over five figures) to a tabloid magazine to be printed.
