Shantina Smiley and Her Son Were Traveling from Silverdale to Castle Rock on Saturday

Shantina Smiley and son Azriel Carver are still missing. Shantina Smiley was driving her son from Silverdale, Wash., to Castle Rock in order to visit relatives on Saturday, but she never showed up at her destination. An investigation is on-going to try and figure out what happened to the mother and her son, but clues are pretty sparse in the case so far. A big clue came on Sunday though, when the van that they were driving was found submerged in Dana Passage with its doors wide open. Now investigators are trying to figure out why Smiley would have driven her van to that location and if something very bad has happened in this missing person's case.

The Thurston County Sheriff's Office doesn't want to commit to answers about the ongoing investigation at this time, only stating that they have no idea what has happened. It's unclear if the van ended up in Puget Sound after Shantina Smiley became lost while driving to their relatives, or if something more sinister has taken place. The question of whether the van was accidentally put into the water may have a sad answer when the statement from investigators is examined. According to KIRO News out of Seattle, to get to where the van was recovered, "investigators said the driver had to take a dead-end road, go down a winding driveway and onto the beach."That's not good news in an investigation such as this.

Shantina Smiley has a fiancé named Robert Simmons who had also told KIRO that she called him from a pay phone to let him know that she had forgotten her cell phone on the trip. They also talked to Smiley's grandfather, who stated that she had called him late on Saturday night to tell him she had become lost and needed further directions on how to get to his house. It turns out that she was only a few miles from her destination according to the call, but it has not been officially confirmed that Shantina Smiley and her son were that close to their relatives house yet. We have attached an image of Shantina Smiley and Azriel Carver if anyone has information about where they might be. Contact 360-493-2222 if you have any information.

I say check out that fiance, Robert Simmons. He did not seem like a caring person in his video. He wanted it to look like her fault.
