Shaq and Gilbert Arenas' Fiance Affair Rumors

Is it all fair in love and basketball? There's been recent rumors going around that Cleveland Cavaliers center Shaquille O'Neal has been having an affair with the fiance of Washington Wizards guard, Gilbert Arenas. Blog sites and other celeb gossip websites have been going crazy buzzing over a possible Shaq and Gilbert Arenas fiance affair story. Allegedly, O'Neal and Laura Govan (Arenas' fiance), have exchanged some steamy emails between one another. A website called Young, Black and Fabulous has given possible evidence of the Shaq-Govan affair based on emails shown on their site. Apparently, Shaq and Laura have been friends publicly, but also have arranged meetings at various events. It's also alleged that Shaq and Laura spent Christmas 2008 together in Phoenix when Shaq was a member of the Suns basketball team.

During this possible scandal, Shaq's wife of seven years, Shaunie O'Neal, has traveled to California to seek legal separation from her 7'1" hubby. It's rumored that the reason for the divorce is because of Shaq's escapades with Gilbert Arenas' fiance. The divorce papers cite the always popular "irreconcilable differences". Govan is expecting to have her third child with Arenas next month. Shaq filed for divorce from Shaunie back in 2007 due to various reasons including being overly secretive about assets in her name. The couple apparently reconciled their differences and the divorce was withdrawn, according to Shaq's wikipedia entry. The couple has four children together as well as two other children from previous relationships, making a total of six.

As for the other side of this equation, things have been rocky between Arenas and Govan in the past as well. A website called blitzcorner.com has published a number of photos of Laura Govan as well as details on a previous split-up between her and Gilbert, plus their custody battles. Apparently, a while back Laura hired a San Fransisco law firm to serve Arenas' with a subpoena for the custody matter during a nationally televised Wizards game. Arenas, with the help of the Wizards management, was able to get them to fabricate a story that he had the flu and was not present for the game. This was all going down during 2004, and Arenas continued to avoid being served papers on television to prevent possible public humiliation. Soon after, the troubled couple began speaking again and were able to negotiate custody and child support.

The 27 year old Gilbert Arenas (nicknamed "Agent 0") is back for the 2009-10 NBA season after a rehab from injury which kept him out for much of the season. He underwent serious training this past offseason and is looking to propel Washington back into playoff contention. Meanwhile, Shaq was traded to Cleveland during the offseason in order to help Lebron James and the Cavs as they try to get themselves past Orlando, who were last season's Eastern Conference champions.

There's been no comments offered up from any of the involved parties as of yet. So for now the rumors will continue to fly, until Gilbert or the Big Aristotle choose to speak to the media, blog or Twitter about the Shaq and Gilbert Arenas fiance scandal.
