Share a Romantic Valentine's Day Relationship Across the Miles

With a Little Imagination a Long Distance Valentines Dinner Can Shared by Two

You met online and immediately clicked. Something he wrote in his message attracted you. You chatted many times since then and viewed each others pictures. There was a possible relationship beginning and you both felt it. Valentine Day was slowly approaching but neither of you could get away to celebrate and meet face to face.

Your relationship grew slowly but picked up momentum recently. He had lost his wife years ago and his children have now grown as have yours.

Valentine Day was quickly approaching. You had romance on your mind and so did he. You suggested that you share a romantic Valentine's Day dinner together, while you each remained in your own home.

He laughed and wondered how this could be done given the distance between us. I told him not to worry. It would be easy to make this brewing relationship work by using the telephone, email or chatting on the Internet.

Planning a romantic Valentine Day dinner over the miles sounded like fun. All that had to be done was to envision sharing a Valentines Dinner together as if we lived close by. Everything else would fall into place, including ordering the Red Roses and buying an appropriate Valentine Day gift.

1. Decide what you each enjoy eating. Cook it or buy it precooked - which ever is easier. If you enjoy fried chicken and he prefers Italian food come to a meeting of the minds or order or prepare a little of each.

2. Each of you should create a romantic menu and email it to each other. Make alterations or changes and send it back and forth until you agree on what to serve for your Valentine Day dinner. This might be the start of a long term relationship so create a fitting dinner.

3. Buy a red Valentine Day table cloth at a local party goods store. Decide on what table to use for dinner. Be sure that the table cloth fits. Be sure to use matching napkins.

4. Each should buy a Valentine Day greeting card. Mail it via snail mail to each other to hold. This will set the scene for the Internet Valentine Day dinner that you will share a week later.

5. Buy the same type of Red Roses arrangement for each of your tables. Place wrapped Valentine Day gifts along side them on the table. The gifts should be opened at the time you each enjoy a glass of the red wine while while using the Skype telephone. Seeing each other will give you the feeling that you are together and enjoying a real relationship while sharing a Valentine Day dinner.

If there are teenagers in the family, involve them in planning the long distance romantic Valentine Day dinner. If your long distance Internet relationship becomes serious, this would be a great way to introduce the children to each other and to your Internet date.

Celebrate a long distance Valentines Day celebration out of the box. Instead of spending the holiday alone, create a romantic dinner in two parts, one at his house and the other in yours and serve the same type of foods.

Made me long to hold someone in my arms. I am, once again, alone. All applicants will receive a chance to meet me. Next year, let there be an "Us."

Great idea! It's not easy to have a long distance relationship. Mine was for a couple of years before and a couple of years after marriage due to the military. Skype would have been nice back then!
