Start with a venture to Noir Leather, the 27-year fetish spot for sex, fashion and leather-inspired fun. With a complete assortment of gifts, souvenirs and adult toys, no matter how conservative the visitor, they will find something to amuse them - even if just for photo-taking. And, if you time it, you can later arrive in your favorite fetish-wear to join the monthly Noir Hellbound gathering, held at an off-site club.
No doubt you've worked up an appetite, so head over to one of many accommodating restaurants downtown, like Noodles & Company. Centered around the celebration of the noodle, main dishes include everything from American to Asian and Mediterranean and can be plain or supplemented with add-ons. But save room for dessert later. This is a reasonably priced, kid-friendly spot, where you order at the counter and it's delivered to your table. There's a frequent diner punchcard, too.
Cross over to Barnes & Noble's luxurious foray into words, sound and unusual collectables. From planned children's or adult activities, B&N offers a fascinating few hours to be spent, poring over historical books on various local cities and distant foreign ports. Try out a new CD, or buy a hard-to-find magazine. The upstairs cafe offers assorted coffees and other beverages, as well as comfy chairs, Wi-Fi and tables. You'll be glad you saved room for dessert. The pastries and baked items will leave you swooning.
Wrap up at Mark Ridley's Comedy Castle, where non-smoking laughs await. His headliners of comedy will send any visitor off from trendy fashion town to dreamland with a smile.
