If you're tired of the same old same old restaurant foods and in need of some flare for your taste buds, look no further than Pittsburgh's own Sharp Edge Creekhouse. Located on West Steuben Street in the Crafton are of town, this small creek side house is stock full of hearty foods, fun atmosphere, and friendly service.
Voted best beer selection in Pittsburgh by Pittsburgh's City Paper for 16 consecutive years, Sharp Edge Creekhouse is home to over 250 Belgian and Craft beers from throughout the world. Of these beers, 20 Belgian and 10 Craft beers are always on tap. Beer prices range from $3 to $100.
The food is the reason that has me going back! Appetizers, salads, soups, burgers, seafood, sandwiches, Panini's, wraps, pizza, and desserts give you so much to choose from on the menu. Each dish has something unique in it to make your choice full of flavor and originality.
My personal favorite is the Brew-a-Burger. For $9 you chose your burger style; sirloin, garden burger, marinated portabella, or chicken. Next, select your cheese of the eleven different selections. Then you add the zip to your burger from one of the twelve sauces ranging from a simple ranch to herbed aioli to black bean corn salsa. Lastly, pile on your veggie toppings. I'm addicted to the sirloin with pepper jack cheese, honey BBQ sauce, lettuce, tomato, and onions. It's to die for!
One of the great benefits of dining at the Sharp Edge Creekhouse is the portions are properly sized. So if you are someone that watches your diet, Sharp Edge Creekhouse seems to understand your concern. Of course, by serving properly portioned meals you do not feel stuffed, which makes you have room for dessert or that second beer!
All meals are under $12 and offer several choices to substitute the standard French fries including; sweet potato fries, onion petals, and Belgian frites. The sweet potato fries are always my choice, as they are always made to order, hot, and crispy.
The menu itself is user friendly, as it provides icons that identify which items are vegetarian, cooked to order, and a Sharp Edge Creekhouse favorite.
I highly suggest dining at the Sharp Edge Creekhouse. The Belgian atmosphere in the middle of a bustling city gives you a new experience to share and revisit quite frequently!
