Shasta Black Cherry Diet Soda

A Nice Treat and Caffeine-free Too!

Casey Chavez
Where I grew up we called this type of drink a 'soda-pop.' I still do. Shasta offers a great line of sodas at low cost but with a quality of taste that is astounding. I have tasted a lot of soda-pop in my lifetime, especially diet black cherry flavor. I will state that this Shasta product is amongst the best I've ever tried.

Shasta diet black cherry is a good tasting soft drink. It contains no caffeine, sugar, fat, calories, and is lower in sodium than many sodas being sold today. As long as I can recall enjoying Shasta colas I realize the good taste and quality has been entirely consistent. It is just a good low-cost soda that has no caffeine. I can now appreciate why Shasta colas are so popular and can compete with the two giant cola companies.

Pour this great tasting diet-cherry soda over some ice cubes in a clear glass tumbler and you or your kids will be in for a treat. I would suggest that if those who you serve this cola to were not aware of its manufacture they would probably choose it more often then not. This is not to say that the other cola products are terrible it's just that this cola is so good tasting and remarkably inexpensive. For the cost of a 12 pack of Coca-Cola the consumer can purchase 24 cans of Shasta.

The Shasta cola comes in an eye-catching beautiful motif. The can design is modern and in good taste. This soda comes in the standard 12 ounce can. It is easy to open and quick to chill. It is a perfect soda to take to a bar-b-cue or camping. Me and my family think this soda tastes great with hamburgers, hot dogs, macaroni, even just chips and dips. My dad served this cola at his Super-Bowl party!

As stated this cola is caffeine free, sugar free, fat free, and carbohydrate free. It is sweetened with Splenda. The ingredients are; carbonated water, citric acid, natural and artificial flavors, caramel color, potassium benzoate, potassium citrate, sucralose, Red 40, Acesfulfame potassium, blue 1.

The ingredients sound like something you might find in a nuclear reactor. But they include mostly water coloring and preservatives to keep you safe.

I asked a few friends of mine to try a taste test with me. I set up some competing brands of sodas and tumblers filled with ice. I made it a blind taste test. Along with the sodas on hand we noshed on bagels, creme cheese, saltines, Brie, provolone, and humus.

Most agreed that the Shasta cola tasted best. There was no aftertaste, just pure cola flavor. This is a bit surprising in a diet cola. But I tested it and it tasted very good as compared to the others. In my mind it was not the clear winner. But it was in the top two.

I would suggest that you go out and purchase some of this cola. I do not think you will be disappointed. For the price of a six-pack of premium colas you can get that and six more cans of this truly great tasting drink.

Go on. Give Shasta diet blackberry soda a try.
