Shattered Dreams

From TB'S Poetry Book "Disturbances"

T.B. Taylor

in this age of shattered dreams

i feel the pain of scattered screams,

i see the destruction of this ancient earth,

and i wait for the dawning of the world's rebirth.

with the rose of the sun and the scarlet of the blood

i see impending doom as i walk through the mud.

with destruction all around,

i feel helpless, gaged and bound.

upon my face is the dampness of tears;

all the pain of all the years.

and i wait for the mercy of the coming death

and i praise his name with my dying breath.
