No one must know the secret she holds.
She doesn't want to lose this part,
This little life is one that she molds.
What will they think when they find out?
She can't hide it much longer.
Can't bear to hear them scream and shout.
She needs to be much stronger.
She holds her belly close to her heart.
This life makes her want to hold on.
This is a brand new start.
She won't wish it to be gone.
She walks by the place that can wipe it away.
It would all just be a nightmare.
Why didn't God didn't listen to her pray?
Or why didn't He care?
She holds her belly close to her heart.
She feels her spirit grow strong,
This is just a little part,
She knows that this is not wrong.
Oh dear Lord she prays,
Help me to see this through.
I love this little one you gave,
It is life that I choose.
She holds her belly close to her heart.
A gift that God gave to her.
The time is wrong for this life to start.
She can feel it stir.
She doesn't know what to do,
But knows what not to.
She walks tall and proud,
God's voice is loud.
With hope and promise.
He will be with her every step of the way,
Holding her heart in his hand.
She won't turn away,
The baby unplanned,
Was meant to stay.
She holds her belly close to her heart,
Maybe it will be meant for others,
She knows in whole or in part,
That it's life is meant to have the love of a mother.
She may not be the one to raise it.
After she gives it life,
But she knows with her every little bit,
Her baby is a gift.

Very moving. May I share this at an upcoming Right to Life Meeting?
Powerful testament to life.
so beautiful and so true
How wonderful! Every life is a gift, regardless of how it begins. Ancient people considered each child a blessing, because it meant life would go on. Unfortunately, us modern people don't always view children this way.
This is truly beautiful, too, Shana!
This is great. :) You have a beautiful way with words.
This is truly awesome, Shana. :-)
