Deep blackness closing in as the thick despair enters
Gasping desperately for air trying not to cave
Wetness falls trailing slowly downwards
Heavy weight lands where it should not go

Shaking begins anew as the mind dims
One less train of thought can be held
The body becomes less sure of what is
The mind already knew

She backs away from the confrontation
Knowing it may be the last
The sounds of the past ride into the present
Blocking out the good and letting in the bad

You cannot beat the evil you can only hope to survive
Using every tool she has inside her
She fights with the one thing left
The beating of this heart will conquer

How do you win against all odds
Overcoming history to win it all
She will win this battle
Using what she has known all along

Respect trust and honor will stand against
What love fails to show
Beating back that darkness she will show him
