Underneath these cotton sheets I am
born again. Wandering this labyrinth
of vagrant light cast asunder like shattered glass
I can count my toes and become
a child again. Mystery dwells here, wreathed
in solar fires.
born again. Wandering this labyrinth
of vagrant light cast asunder like shattered glass
I can count my toes and become
a child again. Mystery dwells here, wreathed
in solar fires.
We are cavernous spaces, you and I. Lingering
in the void between here and the moon. I
fight against time, and sleep, and the wake
rolling over me called daylight. Underneath
these cotton sheets I become
the slave to your soft woven liberties.

beautifully written!
Khara: Your poems make me cry...they are so beautiful. Thank you!!
This is gorgeous. Particularly stunning are the phrases "vagrant light" and "woven liberties". The concept of enslavement to (pun/double entendre) liberties is charming.
Yeah ... (yawn) ... kinda makes ya wanna grab 40 winks ; ) I could smell the fragrance of fresh sheets!
Nice job.
This is great Khara. I really like the cosmic theme running through the poem. It is a very sensuous poem also.
