Shelter in Dire Need of Food, Monetary Donations - Everman, TX

The Everman Animal Shelter is swimming in puppies and they need help with puppy chow and money for vaccines.

If you'd like to try fostering instead or also, contact evermananimals@yahoo.com.

To help with vaccines, send a check to the Crossroads Feed Store, 100 Forest Hill Drive, South, Everman, TX 76140. They are just around the corner from the shelter and is the place where the shelter gets their supplies.

Food can be brought to the shelter at 3961 Bluebell Drive, Everman.

In unrelated pet news, March 20 Deep Ellum in Dallas will have their First Annual Pup Crawl at 1:30 p.m. for a cost of $30 for one person and one dog. Registration is at the Deep Ellum Bark Park, corner of Good Latimer and Commerce Street then you can venture through various dog-friendly venues. The event ends at 6:30 p.m. and all proceeds benefit renovations to the park.

Each additional dog is $5. Cash or check is accepted.

In other pet news, The Scavenger has issued a stolen puppy alert and a $500 reward is being offered by the San Francisco, CA SPCA (Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) for the return of the sick canine that was stolen last night from the facility.

"We will not press charges or ask qustions; we simply want her returned," the SF SPCA said in a statement posted on its Facebook page.

Cassidy, the dog, is three months old and weighs about 17 lbs.

The Humane Society Legislative Fund (HSLF) is urging all citizens to sign an online petition asking the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to modernize its testing methods of animals regarding weed killers, insecticides, and germ-killing cleansers sold in the U.S.

"EPA holds the fate of millions of animals in its hands," states a press release.

Compassionate Pug Rescue (CPR) is asking for monetary support for their senior dogs who are fostered for months, years, or the rest of their lives.

"Puppies are cute, they are energetic, and they are a lot of work," states Tracey Carr, who manages the agency's Facebook page. "When CPR gets a puppy or a pug under a year old, they are adopted quickly."
