Sherwin Williams 2010 Paint Colors for the Modern Romantic

Pam Gaulin
If you dream about a romantic bedroom with a modern twist, consider the colors in the Sherwin Williams 2010 Simplified paint color palette. The hues are worthy of landscape dotted by Roman columns, framed by blue gray shadows and white light. A romantic bedroom can invoke any decade or time, from the Roaring '20s to more technologically-advanced, modern times.

Main Bedroom Wall Paint Color

One main Sherwin Williams 2010 interior paint color which could blanket the bedroom walls is Magnetic Gray (SW 7058). It's a subtle and muted gray, reminiscent of computers and clouds. The soft hue is the ideal palette for creating quiet decor. The same gray would work well with other palettes, beyond the Sherwin Williams 2010 interior paint colors for the Modern Romantic. If you enjoy updating the trim, bedding and accessories more often than the main wall colors, the Magnetic Gray could suit your needs.

Another option for the main wall, or for one wall in the modern romantic's bedroom is Serious Gray (SW 6256). This is a slate blue gray, darker than magnetic gray. It complements the Magnetic Gray and these two Sherwin Williams 2010 interior paint colors should be used together in the bedroom for the modern romantic.

Accent Colors

One surprising color in this Sherwin Williams 2010 interior paint color palette is Enigma. It's a dark and dusty color that is related to a mauve. In contrast to the Serious Gray, there is something Old World feeling about this hue, which helps increase its place as a color for romance. Enigma (SW 6018) should be used sparingly if Serious Gray dominates the bedroom walls.

Enigma could also be used as a dominant wall color, or on the wall behind the bed. Use the lighter Magnetic Gray as a neutral for Enigma.

Sherwin Williams 2010 interior paint color, Butter Up (SW 6681), adds a bit of energy to an otherwise subdued bedroom palette. It's a light yellow, not too bright, but still bold enough to call your attention to it. Use it on architectural features or on door panels. Incorporate the Butter Up yellow hue on painted furniture, in art accessories, and with floral choices for the room.

Two neutrals in the palette are Whitetail and Moderate White. In order to evaluate white hues, a trip to your local Sherwin-Williams store is recommended.

Decorating the Bedroom for the Modern Romantic

For a truly modern and romantic bedroom, remember to lose the electronics from the bedroom, particularly the computer. Creating a Bedroom Conducive to Falling Asleep will further the romantic and serene feel of the room.

Add silver accents throughout the room, translucent fabrics, silver-stitched bedding and keep flat surfaces clear of clutter, for a modern feel.
