Sheryl Crow would like a limit to be introduced on the amount of toilet paper used. When speaking about her suggestion Crow said, "only one square per restroom visit, except, of course on those pesky occasions where two to three could be required."
The statement was put up by Sheryl Crow on her website. The singer has been working hard to help people become aware of how serious current climate problems are. In an effort to help people understand what is happening with the climate, and how they can help the environment Sheryl Crow toured around the United States in a bus that used biodiesel fuel.
Sheryl Crow did not embark on her climate awareness tour solo. Environmentalist, Laurie David, joined the superstar on her tour. Laurie David is responsible for producing Al Gore's Oscar winning documentary, 'An Inconvenient Truth'. She is also the wife of popular comedian and writer Larry David. Larry David was the producer of the hit TV series, 'Seinfeld'. He is also responsible for the popular HBO comedy series, 'Curb Your Enthusiasm', where his on screen wife, Sheryl, is working hard to help the environment.
The tour took Crow and David to 12 different colleges around the US speaking with students on the subject of global warming. Laurie David is also working hard to get the current government to step up and admit there is a serious issue with the climate and that urgent action must happen. Laurie David said that, "federal inaction is no longer acceptable." Also speaking about the current government was Crow. She said, "I just feel like if this isn't addressed by this administration, if this administration isn't hearing this message loud and clear, then I feel like there's an irresponsibility."
Besides suggesting that toilet paper use should be strictly limited Sheryl Crow also addressed the use of paper napkins. According to Crow using paper napkins is extremely wasteful, stating that they, "represent the height of wastefulness."
As an alternative to paper napkins Crow has developed a new clothing line. These clothes will contain a special attachment that she is calling a "dining sleeve." People will be able to use the sleeve to wipe their mouths while eating. The sleeve will detach so people can remove it and attach a clean one. However, one question does arise while thinking of this new clothing line. What impact would occur on the environment from the increased washing being carried out as a direct result of everyone using dining sleeves? Could it potentially cause more harm to the environment?
Regardless of the thought that Sheryl Crow is suggesting we use an unreasonable amount of toilet paper, the singer does have a point, urgent action is necessary to save the environment before it is too late.

Post a CommentHer suggestion reminded me of an elementary school where I once taught. They wanted kids to use the same number of squares as their grade. One for a first grader, two for second, etc....And I thought THAT was ludicrious.
One square, huh? Wow she sure doesn't know my anatomy. Good one.
