Colleen Starr
Lifetime is having a "Can You Keep A Secret" Event all day. Some of the shows are rather controversial for some including "She's too young" ; "Mom at sixteen"; "Dead at 17"; and "What she knew"

All of these Lifetime movies are great to watch with your teenagers. Teen seem to easily identify with the characters. Certain details in these movie are defiantly blown out of portion. Parents need to remember not all teenagers are hiding deep secrets and having sex parties.

She's too young is a movie about teenage sex that originally aired in 2004 but re-aired tonight.

The movie She's too young show teenagers borrowing pornography and bringing it to sex parties. Teen contract STD's during the movie. Parents should watch this movie with their children. After the movie a frank talk about safe sex practices may be brought up.

Mom at sixteen is a movie about a 16 year old girl names Jacey Jefferies. Jacey was a all around American good girl until she becomes pregnant at 16 sending her mom into a tailspin.

Jacey convinces her Mom she really wants to keep her baby.

Teen pregnancy is a real problem in the US. Many young ladies become pregnant not fully realizing the consequences of unprotected sex.

Dead at 17 is a great teenage drama.

The movie Dead at 17 is about teenagers who have been out partying. The girl that they are with gets killed accidentally. The teenagers try to cover up her accidentally death. Eventually one of them feels the need to tell the truth.

What She Knew is a very sad movie about a 16 year old girl who has hidden her entire pregnancy from everyone. Her baby dies as a newborn and everyone accuses her of the murder.

This movie is a great talking point for teenagers. SO many young girls sadly get pregnant and try to cover it up in fear. All too often we hear these heartbreaking true life stories place out on national television.

CNN reported that teen pregnancy rates are up for the first time in 15 years. Bristol Palin's much publicized pregnancy gives proof to how prevalent teen pregnancy really is. Teenagers need to realize having sex just one time is enough to get pregnant. Teaching kids abstinence does not always work.
