Shiloh Jolie Pitt Struggling with Sexual Identity at Only Four?

Angelina Jolie has been getting a lot of press lately about letting her young daughter, Shiloh, dress like a boy. The clothes that the little girl is seen in lately are very masculine.

Shiloh's hair style is very boyish looking also and Jolie has found herself defending her daughters mode of dress in most every interview she does these days.

Jolie's answers to most of the questions about her daughters "style" are very much the same. Shiloh is the one who wants to dress this way. She insisted on the hair cut and she chooses her own clothes, according to Glamour Magazine.

One of the reasons this adorable little girl may want to dress like a boy is simple, she has brothers. Many children want to imitate their older siblings at her age. She is just four years old and she has brothers in the house.

This is very common, says the Parenting and Child Health website. According to the experts, Jolie is addressing this issue in a very healthy way, just go with it. This does not mean the little Shiloh is already a "dike" as some uninformed websites are writing.

The website Aisha Music has an article calling Shiloh's manner of dress "harmful psychologically." They are also saying that Jolie's bi-sexual tendencies are showing up in Shiloh. Can't it just be that the young girl is trying to be like her brothers? Referring to a four year old child as having "dike" tendencies is ludicrous.

According to the Parenting and Child Health website a child doesn't realize that they are going to be a boy or a girl for the rest of their life until the age of six. They know they are a boy or a girl by the time they are three or four, but for lack of a better way of explaining this, they think that sex is interchangeable until about the age of six.

More than likely Shiloh's taste is going to change, but if it doesn't so what?

My daughter took the dressing up like a boy and getting her hair cut like a boy one step further than little Shiloh is, when she was four. She wanted to be called "Jimmy" and if we did not call her "Jimmy" she really was upset. She wore the baseball cap, work boots and everything else her older brother was wearing. No one told me I was wrong when I allowed her to do this. Most friends and family thought it was cute and made no fuss about it.

I did not encourage this, but I did nothing to discourage it either. I let it run its course and it did. She is very feminine young adult today. She remembers those days and she said she wanted to be just like her older brother and his friends.

Jolie is handling her daughters insistence of dressing in male fashion just fine. She owes no explanation for her good parenting skills or for letting her daughter's imagination take over for her mode of dress.
