Ship Wreck

Mary Wensing Dvorachek
1 small onion, thinly sliced
A Layer of sliced potatoes
A Thick layer of ground beef.
A Thin layer of rice (uncooked)
Layer of celery
1 can kidney beans
2 c. strained tomatoes

brown ground beef in skillet and drain off excess fat. Place ingredients in casserole in order given. Season with salt and pepper as needed. Cover and bake for 2 hours at 350 degrees.

If you don't like kidney beans you can use mixed vegetables, green beans or even peas or corn.

You can use a can of cream of celery soup instead of the celery, and you can use either onion flakes or leave the onions out if you prefer.

Thank you all for your comments, you all made my day. I can see where the title would have thrown you off. Let me know how you like the recipe. It is one of my favorites. Hugs Mary

Funny!! I thought something terrible had happened to you (from the title), and you were writing to tell us about it! This one sounds interesting!

LOL, from the title I thought this was a poem. When I started reading "1 small onion" I started wondering about your poetic skills...
