I have rather large feet for a woman (size 12) and during the first years, I was forced to buy men's shoes as SFC didn't stock women's sizes larger than 11. Things have changed, and the company currently stocks 13 styles of women's slip resistant shoes in size 12, and 2 in size 13. They don't have any larger, though I'm sure the coming years will force them to add larger and larger selections. My employees and I always found that the shoes run true to size.
The styles of slip resistant shoes offered by Shoes for Crews are well varied. They have pumps, athletic shoes, flat professional shoes, clogs and even steel toed boots. I and my employees found that the quality of the shoes we bought was generally very good. The only problem I (or they) ever had was with the style called 'Euro Clogs,' which gave me giant blisters on the balls of my feet. Whether the fault was in the shoe or my feet, I'll never know. Every other style I wore was comfortable and had good arch support, was durable, and at least moderately attractive.
The Shoes For Crews company specializes in slip resistant shoes (and mats and crutches.) When our restaurant management team got our first shipment of slip resistant shoes, one of the other managers put on her new shoes for a trial. We poured soap and water into a (normally treacherously slippery) puddle and she backed up 5 yards. She came tearing across the floor and hit the puddle like a snowboarder, intending to skid across. Instead, she came to a dead halt without a squeak from the obviously powerful anti-slip soles of her new shoes. There is no doubt that the Shoes For Crews slip resistant sole is effective. It made our work much easier and quicker as we didn't have to mince around the kitchen in case of some small spill.
During my ten years of wearing Shoes For Crews brand for work, the only part of them which wore out was the cushioning and the shoelaces. The non-slip soles were as good when I threw away the shoes as when I bought them, the upper, stitching, and eyelets were as solid as the day they came in the mail. The shoelaces which came with the shoes inevitably came apart after about 3 weeks. This failure was so reliable that when I ordered shoes, I'd go buy extra laces at a shoe store. I found that on average, the cushioned support was good for 720 hours of standing wear. After that, my legs and knees would begin to hurt and I'd need a new pair of shoes.
The prices for women's non-slip shoes from Shoes For Crews range from $25.98 to $62.98. If purchased through a participating employer, Shoes For Crews offers a payroll deduction plan which splits the payments into two, three, or four payments. There is no charge for the payroll deduction service. They offer a 60 day satisfaction guarantee.
Overall, I'd say that if you work (or play, or live) in a slippery environment, Shoes For Crews is a worthwhile investment. In addition to restaurant work, these slip-resistant shoes would be good for boating, hospitals, and schools during the winter, when linoleum and tile tends to be wet and slick. If they were asking me, I'd advise them to do something about their shoelaces and to chuck the whole Euro clog style. I give Shoes for Crews a very, very good rating.

Post a CommentSTAY AWAY!! They only warrantee their shoes for 6 months. After that you are out f luck. Even if the shoes are BRAND NEW. Brought a spare pair and they disintegrated and fell apart 3 days out of the box making me walk home in my socks. Customer Service wouldn't replace them because they were out of warantee. Rockport and Timberland have lifetime warrantee
Shoes for crews customer service is horrible. I tried ordering two different shoes and neither of them fit me and after having to return both of them I tried to get my refund and they wouldn't give it to me. The shoes are horribly uncomfortable and fall apart within a month. I do not recommend ever using this company.
I have 2 pair of the Jazz shoes for crews shoes and they are very comfortable from the first time that I wore them. They do not need to be broken in. I am a bartender for 20 years and these shoes last for at least 7 months working full time 9 hours a day. I recommend them for all women with a b-width.
