'Shoes for Orphan Souls': What it Is, Where You Can Drop Off Items?

UNICEF says as many as 148 million orphans exist in the world today and one of their greatest needs besides food is shoes, with some children not owning even one pair. Buckner International has made it their business to fix that problem and many organizations, including Moody Radio's WMBW station (88.9FM on your radio dial) aid them in that cause.

WMBW is currently concluding their "Shoes for Orphan Souls" shoe drive in Alabama, Georgia, Kentucky, North Carolina and Tennessee. They urge anyone who has yet to purchase a pair of shoes or socks for an orphan for this year's effort to do so today.

If you are looking for a drop-off site you can leave your donation items for the Buckner Industries ministry effort, you have a lot of location options this year, especially in Chattanooga, TN; the city WMBW calls home.

Alabama WMBW "Shoes for Orphan Souls" drop-off locations

Drop-off collection sites for shoes in Bryant, Alabama can be left at Long Island Baptist Church, Mountain View Christian Academy or Ponder's Mountain Pharmacy. In Fort Payne you can leave your new pair of shoes for orphans at these locations: Emergency Response Services, Grace Presbyterian Church or Valley Customs.

Drop off shoes at Sulphur Springs Baptist Church in Henegar, Broadway Church or Homeplace Real Estate in Rainsville, Calvary Baptist Church or Mane Design Hair Salon in Scottsboro or Amazing Grace Church of God in Stevenson.

Georgia WMBW "Shoes for Orphan Souls" drop-off locations

Georgia drop-off location sites for WMBW "Shoes for Orphan Souls" include the Adairsville Church of God, as well as these Blue Ridge Locations: McCaysville Church of God, The Insurance Mart, Taste of Amish and United Community Bank.

The First Baptist Church of Bremen, Georgia is another location site accepting the shoe donations. Calhoun, Georgia residents can leave shoes for orphans at the At Peace Hospice Care site, Calhoun Adventist Church and Prater Ford.

Garber Chiropractic Center, Harry Daniel Insurance and Oakland Heights Baptist Church are accepting shoe donations in Cartersville. In Cedartown you have two drop-off points: Aluminum Awning and Supply and Eastview Baptist Church.

Other Georgia shoe drop-off locations

In Chatsworth, Georgia there is one drop-off location for the area accepting your WMBW "Shoes for Orphan Souls": Holly Creek Baptist Church.

Fellowship, Marble Top and Oakwood Baptist Churches in Chickamauga, Georgia are accepting your shoe donations as is Lookout Mountain Real Estate in Cloudland. New Covenant Baptist Church in Cohutta, Mende's Martial Arts in Cummings and 12 locations in Dalton, Georgia will collect "Shoes for Orphan Souls" and send them on to Buckner Industries for distribution in the U.S. and around the world.

Dalton locations include the Book Nook, the Church on the Hill, Dalton House of Prayer, Dawnville United Methodist Church, Fellowship Bible Church, In Heaven's Name, Kinsey Drive Baptist Church, and Nephrology and Hypertension Specialist, as well as Quality Staffing, Sutton Family Pharmacy, Temple Baptist Church and the Whitfield County Sheriff's Office.

Kentucky and North Carolina each have one "Shoes for Orphan Souls" drop-off location: the Calvary Assembly of God in Kentucky and the Appalachian Land Company in North Carolina.

Tennessee WMBW "Shoes for Orphan Souls" drop-off locations for 2011

As WMBW is located in the city of Chattanooga, it comes as no surprise that their hometown boasts the most drop-off location sites of all the states, providing as many as 43 locations you can leave the new shoes you have purchased for an orphan this year.

In the state of Tennessee there are a total of 150 "Shoes for Orphan Souls" drop-off locations available to those eager to help a child in need this year with a new pair of shoes.

Academic Internal Medicine at Erlanger Medical Mall is one location taking shoe donations this year for the Moody Radio Christian station located in Chattanooga. Others include: Acceptance Insurance, Belhaven University, Boss Van, Brainerd Baptist Church (BX), Brainerd Baptist (yes, the other one, on Brookfield Avenue), Bryan College and Calvary Baptist Church in Redbank.

Other Tennessee drop-off locations for your WMBW "Shoes for Orphan Souls" donations are Choices Pregnancy Resource Center, Classic Cabinetry, Consulate Health Care of Chattanooga, The Cross Culture, Diagnostic Imaging, Edward's Jewelry, and Fellowship of Christian Peace Officers.
