Shoes and Socks Quatrain

(inspired by a Writer on AC, One of My Recent Favorites Here)

Quatrain 1 (Hymnal variation)

There's no job beneath dignity,
Just give me clean shoes (... boot?)
Needed at mine, yard, up a tree -
I'll whistle, work and hoot!

Feet happy ... I need little else
To smile at Fate's decrees
Forget lunch so long as my shelves
Hold a dry pair for me.

Quatrain 2 (Hymnal Variation)

When hired for jobs great or small
Full forty hours weekly
Clean socks (given for one and all)
Spell health: My feet decree!

Some folk hold tightly to their socks
Reasons are not all smelly;
My non-jock feet smell of dry "rocks" ...
No athlete's feet; no money!

  • It's all about shoes and socks
I can spend all day working, even without food, but clean, dry shoes and socks are essential for my daily happiness (besides the shower). The Hymn "Amazing Grace" is written in the Hymnal Measure.
