Choose clothing that is darker in color as the dark hues will help minimize. You can also accomplish this with bright monochromatic tones giving you a wider range of choices when shopping for clothes. If you feel the need to have a bit more variety than that make sure the light colored clothing you choose is worn on top or over other things. Shirts and trench coats are what I mainly have in mind.
When shopping for dresses, choose styles such as belted shirt dresses and mid calf length fitted sheaths. The belted shirt dress will help avoid appearing like you have a boxy body form. The fitted sheath will help you appear to be slimmer than baggy choices will.
Any pants you wear should be wide legged or boot cut. This will help you to balance out your figure and down play larger hips and thighs. Make sure your bottoms are in darker colors to help further minimize your appearance.
When shopping for shoes, choose pairs that have angles straps going across the tops of your feet. This will help to make legs appear longer as opposed to short and chunky. I recommend that you choose short heels unless you are rather short or very tall. In these cases choose taller heels if you are short and flats if you are tall but try to stick with the straps as much as you can. Also choose hand bags that are small and compact. Clutches are the best choice.
The best part of shopping for a full figure is that all those great shirts with beautiful embellishments on the top are perfect for you. When you wear embellishments near your face it draws attention upwards and away from parts of your body you may not want others to dwell on. Avoid shirts that are low cut on the top. Statement earrings are another easy to draw the gaze upward especially if they are made from a light reflecting material like gold or silver.
