Who does not like shopping? Practically no one, especially if you have a credit card or a debit card. It is the real fun online where everything is available on the web- belts, DVDs, soft toys, televisions, Mp3 players, you name it and you find it on the web.

However, searching for what you wish to buy is totally different altogether. Countless number of sites sells your desired item at different prices. Hence, you would need assistance or a complicated excel sheet to figure out the cheapest bargain of them all.

Well, froogle makes it easier for you. The word froogle is an interesting combination of google and frugal. It helps you in finding things that are sold online and compare them by price. Once you get used to it, you would find it indispensable while shopping online.

When to Use Froogle

Froogle works great while searching for a certain product and comparing prices. However, it does not offer reviews to narrow down your search. For product research, you would need to check out epinions, ebay, bizrate or consumer reports.

Where does Froogle get its information? Mostly from two sources: Google's web crawl and the data sent by the merchants. Inspite of its loopholes, Froogle is beneficial in its own way to save you time, worry and money.

Search with Froogle

Like all Google searches, Froogle allows you to do a keyword search to browse by category. There are apparel and accessories, personal care, sports and so on. You can visit the categories and sub categories further to get on to the product in your wish list.

The price range option lets you go through the low and high prices you want to see. This way you can filter out the stuff that matches your search. However, if you search for ipod, Froogle also includes the accessories while you browse by price range. The same goes for any product.

Unfortunately, Froogle does not let you use synonyms. For instance, if you think you product may be a bottom, pants or trousers; you have to run three different searches for all three. A trick here is that you can alternatively use the OR option to search for them simultaneously.

Therefore, anytime you search a broad category-like a digital camera, food items, pen or tie, Froogle gives you a lot many results, tough to handle. The trick here is to refine your search by using a minus or a plus sign or quote marks for products with multiple words.

Finally, Froogle advanced search allows you to enter a complex query without using syntax. It also lets you predetermine the factors that can be adjusted on the search page, like price range or sorting the list. It makes your shopping search easier, interesting and familiar rather than a confusing page full of links.
