Shopping for Video Games for Christmas at Low Prices!

So, you have son, daughter, niece, nephew, grandchild...or yourself, and you want to buy a cool video game for them (or yourself) for Christmas this year. But even though our country is in a recession, that hasn't stopped retailers from lowering their prices. I've looked around and have shopped for a few bargains myself, since I own a Playstation 2, a Wii, a PC and an Xbox 360. Here is what I found.

1. Big Lots-If you want to find cool video games for the Wii, this is the place to go for Christmas shopping. They now carry lots of cool titles for the Wii, all for less than $20.00. And if you own a PC, they also carry a variety of popular titles for PC gaming, with lots of genres to choose from. And, they carry controllers for the Wii, Xbox 360 and Playstation consoles! Go to www.biglots.com to find the nearest store near you.

2. Ebay-This auction website is popular for a lot of things, but it's also the place to get a great deal on the latest popular video games. Most people purchase games like Halo: ODST, Call of Duty, etc. when they first come out, and then when they are done playing they sell them on Ebay. Some of them are like new, while some have been used and can be shipped without the original box, but it's still a good deal!

3. Amazon.com-Similar to Ebay, Amazon now offers a wide variety of video games for all consoles for a cheaper purchase price than most retailers. And you can choose from new, like new and gently used conditions so that you know exactly what you get for what you pay. And most of the time, you can get free shipping!

4. Gamestop-The great thing about Gamestop to me is their trade-in feature. If you own older video games, you can trade these in and either pocket the money or use what you earn towards the purchase of a new video game. I traded in about 6 games for the Xbox 360 and bought Guitar Hero 4 for about $10.00! But they also offer great low prices on games for the Playstation and the Xbox 360. Titles can start as low as $4.99!

5. Direct2Drive-This awesome website lets you download games for your PC and their prices are cheap! You can get a good game for a lot less than buying it at the store. PC gamers are still around, and although console games are outselling PC games, there are still a few good titles out there that deserve attention. This website is great for those who don't want to leave the house!

And finally, where anyone can find a bargain...garage sales! I love garage sales, and I have found many a treasure for myself and my children, and this includes great video games! I have found classics like Pac-Man and Zelda to newer titles like Fable and Mariokart.

There's always a great bargain out there, and Christmas is the perfect time to do a bit of bargain hunting!
