ShopRite is an excellent chain of full service supermarkets with stores located in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, New York, Maryland, Delaware and Connecticut. More than 220 ShopRite Supermarkets are now in operation, including more than 20 in Connecticut.
Although ShopRite Supermarkets have been in operation in Connecticut for many decades, their presence has grown in leaps and bounds in the past couple of years. After the Shaw's supermarket chain closed a number of stores in Connecticut in 2010, ShopRite Supermarkets moved ino the spaces occupied by many of the Shaw's stores. Personally, I have shopped on and off at ShopRite stores since the 1970's, when my Father and I shopped regularly at one of their stores.
ShopRite Supermarkets are part of a grocery cooperative with Wakefern Food Corporation, based in New Jersey. Many of the stores are family - owned and operated and they are open seven days a week. Always sparkling clean, with wide aisles, ShopRite Supermarkets are staffed by knowledgeable employees who will take the time to help you if you ask them for assistance.
Large selections of merchandise are logically stocked and displayed at Connecticut ShopRite stores. Most ShopRite stores feature produce, deli, bakery, grocery, meat, seafood, frozen, dairy, non - foods and health & beauty departments.
One of the things that I like most about Connecticut ShopRite Supermarkets is how they stock brands and flavors of products that other major supermarkets do not carry. The selection of canned foods normally available at ShopRite stores is much more extensive than at most other supermarkets.
Every year, ShopRite supermarkets hold their annual "Can Can Sale", wherein wide assortments of canned goods are offered at very inexpensive prices.
Prices at ShopRite Supermarkets, including their Connecticut stores are usually a little bit lower than at other supermarkets. All of the meats, seafood, bakery, dairy and produce items are fresh and of high quality, as are all of the ShopRite store brand products. By using a ShopRite Courtesy Card, which can be obtained at the front desk, substantial discounts are offered on an array of items.
The meat sections at ShopRite stores always feature a wide assortment of packaged meats, which are packaged in small and large quantities. The produce is always impeccably fresh and aesthetically pleasing and the bakery department regularly produces a range of delicious, top quality baked goods, which are very reasonably - priced.
Don't forget to check out the prepared foods department at your local ShopRite store. From subs, pizza and salads, to pasta dishes and full course entrees, there's something to please every palate .
Through the years, I have shopped at the old West Hartford, Newington and Wethersfield, Connecticut ShopRite stores, as well as the always busy Manchester store. Now, the new West Hartford store is my supermarket of choice. The store is usually busy, but not crowded because it is so big and I really enjoy shopping there.
Several times over the past few months, while talking with various people about Hartford area supermarkets, they mentioned to me that ShopRite has become their new regular grocery store. I must admit, I'm also very fond of ShopRite supermarkets and I love reading their weekly sales circular which is mailed to most households in my local area.
ShopRite Supermarkets are located in Bristol, Canton, Derby, Enfield, Manchester, Norwalk, Shelton, Stamford, Wallingford, West Hartford and West Haven, Connecticut. They are also located in Brookfield, Clinton, East Hartford, Fairfield, Hamden, Milford, New London, Norwich, Southbury, Southington and Waterbury, Connecticut.
ShopRite also offers a broad spectrum of online services. These include a recipe center, each store's weekly circular, online shopping, pharmacy and photo center, gift cards, coupons and ordering options for many different types of merchandise.
