Cold weather is just around the corner, and if you have a fireplace or wood stove, now is the time to have it cleaned and inspected by a certified chimney sweep. To ensure safety and enjoyment this winter from your fireplace, put this phone number on your "to do" list, 609-463-8400. That's The Chimney Doctor!

With 17 years of experience and certification by the Chimney Safety Institute of America (CSIA), they're the ones you can have the most confidence in. The Chimney Doctor is the only sweep in Cape May County that is certified by F.I.R.E. (Fireplace Investigation, Research and Education), and a member of the National Chimney Sweep Guild.

The Chimney Doctor uses video inspection to get a detailed look at the inside of a flue, and they can make any necessary repairs ("We have the cure for your flue," they'll say!).

Be aware that not only fireplaces and wood stoves have chimneys. If you have natural gas, propane or oil heat, you may have a chimney or vent pipe that should be inspected annually.

If you don't have a fireplace, now is the perfect time to have one installed to enhance your home and enjoy a warm winter. Recently, The Chimney Doctor opened a long awaited showroom called "Shore Fire" in the quaint Woodland Village Shops, 1943 Route 9 in Clermont, New Jersey (across the street from Cape May Wicker).

Dave and Wendy Adams at Shore Fire can answer all your fireplace and wood stove questions, and show you some of the most elegant, quiet, clean-burning heating and cooking soapstone fireplaces ever devised. Manufactured by Tulikivi of Finland (it's cold there!) solid soapstone fireplaces are extremely efficient and yield the most pleasant radiant heat. "Radiant heat warms you no matter where you are the room," explains Dave.

With the cost of home heating fuels at an all time high, heating with wood is a smart move. Shore Fire also sells and installs Regency fireplaces, woodstove inserts and pellet stoves.

For those who already have a fireplace or wood stove, stop in Shore Fire and see their line of mantle decorations, hearth rugs, stove scents, urns, vases and candelabras, stove polish and other maintenance supplies, including vacuum cleaners specifically designed for removing and storing ash safely. They also have free brochures on fireplace safety.

Stop in Shore Fires for a cozy visit today. "We'll warm your hearth!" Phone 609-624-8200
