Short Funny New Year's Eve 2010 Poem: "Through with You!"

"Through with You!"

Lori Lane
2010 caught wind of 2009 stretching her limits
walking savvy down the hands of time.
He approached her, said "What's up you coaster?"
She just strolled in as if she owned New Year's night.
So 2010 prepares to begin,
winking at 11, two years ahead of '09.
Then up comes that lady pushing 11 aside,
pressed on 2010 as if he's her boyfriend of time.

"Back up little 2009, I'm about through with you!"
"No you're not, I still have deep debts to move...
thought you got rid of me, well, that ain't true
because take a look at tax-time..."
"I said I'm through with you!"

2009 seen the midnight coming fast.
She dressed to impress with her shoes of plastic glass.
Shattered by each moment with only two minutes left
as 2010 looked sharp in his post time best.

"What you looking at little lady, I said I'm about through with you!"
"No you're really not, I have something to prove...
you can't live without me because I'm behind you..."
"Only by a digit, now I'm through, just move!"

Tick tock, the clock reached the spot
as the sweat rolled down 2009's round face.
"You want a tissue little lady?
You want some sympathy?"
"Well, maybe...just maybe."

2010 lifted up to toast the year left behind,
but when the clock struck twelve, no more 2009.

"Ain't that something, she disappeared, she's no friend.
Bring on the party cause here comes 2010!"
