Short Interview with Shon Hyneman

I have known Shon for a couple years now and have been following his progress as an author. I am honored to be a friend and to get to know both he and his wife, Londina, through their inspiration for marriage and family. Please see what Shon has to say about his third book.

Viktorya: Please take a moment to let us know what your current project is.

Shon: We are working on a 3 set DVD series for "3 are even better" which will be out in December this year.

Viktorya: Describe "3 Are Better" and what inspired you to write this book?

Shon: The book is primarily for married couples who want to enhance their marriage and use the book as a barometer to see where their marriage stands. We also use the book for engaged couples in premarital sessions. I tell singles to buy it also they can see what marriage is all about. I think singles need to get a preview on what married couples deal with so they can make a decision on if marriage is for them or not.

What inspired me to write the book was facilitating marriage classes and seeing what the books and classes offered in an eight week session. I thought to myself "why don't I write an eight week workbook for Never Again Ministries?" I wrote the book to tackle all the stuff married couples don't like to address, but at the same time these same issues are destroying marriages.The book is up close and personal.

Viktorya: I noticed that it was more or less a directory for a marital counseling group. I thought that was
interesting. What made you think of that?
Shon: After facilitating marriage classes for five years, I thought "Why not write a workbook for Never Again Ministries?"

Viktorya: Describe 3 important topics in regards to what you would discuss in a marital counseling group.

Shon: Money, sex and communication

Viktorya: I love how you include scriptures to back up your ideas. Name 3 that all marriages should live by.

Shon: All of Ephesians chapter 5 and all of 1 Corinthians chapter 7

Viktorya: Name some negative "germs" that get inside and ruin marriages.

-Escalating arguments

Viktorya: What advise in 10 words or less would you give to married couples who are contemplating
divorce.

Shon: Divorce is not an option!
