Nehemiah: The Book of Nehemiah, is one of the history books of the Old Testament, it continues a story of the Israelite's return from Babylonian captivity and the rebuilding of the temple in Jerusalem. Nehemiah a great man of prayer led the Israelites into a respect and passion for God's word. With his great love for God and his desire to see God honored in all things, Nehemiah, led the Israelites towards the faith and obedience God had asked of them for so long. Nehemiah who was a Hebrew in Persia when the word came to him that the Temple in Jerusalem was being reconstructed, he grew worried realizing there was no protection around the city. Nehemiah prayed for God to use him to save the city. God answered his prayer by touching the heart of the Persian king, Artaxerxes, who gave Nehemiah not only a blessing but supplies as well to build a wall around the city for protection. Afterward the king gave Nehemiah permission to return to Jerusalem, where he became the governor.
