Short Summary of the Book of Ruth

Randy Jones
Ruth: In the book of Ruth the genres of devotion and uncompromising love are rewarded as the blessing for obedience puts Ruth into the privileged lineage of Christ. The author for the book of Ruth has believed to have been Samuel the prophet and possibly written around 1011 to 930 B.C. The Book of Ruth was written for the Israelites that they would know that sometimes pure love may call for uncompromising sacrifices.

The book of Ruth as well points out five good concepts.

First one is that regardless of our place in life, we can still live a life for God.
Second one is pure love and kindness are rewarded.
Third is that God blesses those who live obedient lives.
Forth is that in obedient living, there is no room for "accidents" in God's plan.
The last is that God is merciful.

Ruth's devotion to Naomi (her mother-in-law) was unwavering as she traveled with her to Bethlehem. As Ruth found she fell into the plan of God's reward in her marriage to Boaz and later giving birth to a son, named Obed, who becomes the grandfather of David and the ancestor of Jesus.
