Before we go through the "time shortening" parts, we'll need to know how to write a good article first.
To write a good article, first, you have to know about the subject well. You don't need to be an expert on that subject to do so. However if you are one of them, it will be far better. But, if you don't know about your subject well enough, it's better to do some research and study about that subject. Because the less knowledge you have about that subject, the worse article you will produce. Once you get enough knowledge about it, you can start writing your article.
One important point in writing a good article is to know the structure of it. In a good article, there are three main parts that should be concluded in it. They are introduction, main body, and conclusion. Introduction is needed to make the readers' mind focus on the important points of the article. Then the main body will contains those important points. And finally you must put the conclusion of your article in the last part of it.
The main part has to express the title. It is also must be well organized. A messed up article will make the readers confused. It is better to have one idea in each paragraph. That way, readers won't get confused. Placing the keywords in right position will also help readers to understand it easier. It will be better if it answers 5W+1H (what, when, where, who, which, how) questions of readers.
Your article doesn't have to be too long, but it can't be too short either. Long article will lose readers' concentration and sometime make them bored. Too short article will reduce quality because the information provided in it will be reduced due to the length. So a good article must be "to the point".
One other thing you should know when writing a good article is the audience (the readers). It is better if you know who will be the readers of your article because different people have different senses in reading. By knowing the readers, you can adjust your article, whether it should be formal or not, whether it has to be simple or complex, whether it has to be detailed or summarized. In this case you must put your position into readers' position, so you know how your article is.
The last thing to be done is to re-read the article. Ensure that the grammar and spelling is correct, check whether it is easy to be read or not. Ensure it is clear and easy to be understood. Once it is done, you can say that your article is done, but remember that you can't say that your article is already good because it's the readers who determined the value of your article.
You have what you need to write a good article, so now we'll move to the time shortening part. To save your time, just simply think of a way to shorten the time taken to figure out each point stated above (in writing good article part).
In the first point, you need to get to know about the subject first isn't it? Well, as you know, you'll take some time to do some research and then learn it, but if you already master or at least have some knowledge about it, you won't have to waste your time there.
Then in the second part, about the article structure, what you need to do is only keep practicing. If you are already used to it, I'm sure you won't have any problem with it. That will also save your time.
In the third part, you'll need to know about your audience. It'd be faster if you have targeted your audience before you start writing. By doing it, you'll save some time thinking about how you should write your article.
And for the last part, I'm sure you know how to shorten your time in this. What you have to do is just write a good article with good spelling and grammar from the beginning so you don't have to spend too much time to recheck it.
I'll also give one more trick; just write as you say. Trust me if you do it that way, you'll save much more time because if you don't do it that way, you'll waste too much time thinking about what should be written. But this point can't be used all the time. Because sometimes you have to make a perfect and formal writing that makes you can't use this trick.
That's what you need to know to write a good article and shortening the writing time, but that's not all. Your experiences and efforts in writing article also determine the quality of your article. Remember the old saying "practice makes perfect"? The more articles you write the better quality your articles will have.
