Shots Ring Out at Iran Election Protest Rally Monday
Huffingtonpost.com Twiter: At least one reported dead. ABC's Jim Sciutto: "sev reports of pro-govt militia firing on protesters, AP photog reports one protester dead"
Huffingtonpost.com Twitter: Gunman fire on people at pro-Mousavi rally, one killed, many wounded -witness"
Associated Press photographer reports one person shot and killed and several others who appeared to be wounded at the rally. Gunfire came from a compound for volunteer militia linked to Iran's Revolutionary Guard.
The chanting crowd was more than five miles long and estimated to be in the hundreds of thousands of protesters.
Malaysian police on Monday fired several rounds of tear gas to break up a noisy protest held by Iranians against President Ahmadinejad. More than 200 people gathered at Kuala Llumpur's, United Nations building to hand over a protest note demanding the world body nullify elections the Iranian opposition allege was rigged.
Latest YouTube Download, apx. Noon, CST, June 15: Streets Littered, Assumed Video Taken Monday Evening/Tuesday Morning
This is the latest Iran video I could find on the internet. It shows streets in Iran littered with debris, most of it burning, people walking around the debris and a few cars trying to get past obstacles. Eventually the sound of an alarm is heard as the photographer passes a storefront with broken windows. No one is raiding the store.
I can't translate the language but my guess it's Tehran, Monday/Tuesday morning after shots were fired at a pro- Mousavi campaign. Clearly, the Iranians continue their fifth day of protests. And yet, the world continues to watch. Amnesty International, the UN and other world agencies have seen enough. It's time to speak out for peaceful resolution.
BBC now has live feeds on the Iran Election protests. Currently, videos show Mir Hossein Mousav at the rally Monday, his first appearance since the vote on Friday. The demonstrators gathered in Tehran's Revolution Square, chanting pro-Mousavi slogans as riot police stood by.

As I've watched the videos and read reports of the Iran election protests for the past few days, my appreciation for the freedom we have in America has deepened. It is increasingly emotional to me. I did not have to fight for my freedom but my forefathers did.
These Iranian citizens are true heroes that deserve our support. For the past few days of seeing hundreds of photos of the Iran election protests, they stay away from violence, even helping injured policemen that attack the crowds.
Please contact international groups such as Amnesty International, your congressmen and friends. Let them know your thoughts. Feel free to post my articles........I'm not using keywords so please help get the word out. I pray for a peaceful resolution to a split Iran as it escalates into violence. Maybe with our combined efforts, Iran's freedom date will be July 4, 2009.
