Should You Allow Your Kids to Do Whatever They Feel Like?
Many Parents in the United States Are Not Disciplining Their Kids like They Used to
Some parents in the United States are allowing their children to pile up on cake, candy and things that are not good for you. These foods are loaded with unhealthy fat and sugar. Parents are also developing the mentality that, "when I was a kid, my mom never let me have any cake or candy, so now I am going to let my kids do it because I hated it."
The first thing that a parent must do to break away from this thinking is that they have to stop comparing themselves to their children. Their children are not even growing up around the same type of society anymore. In the 1950's, even if a parent did not seem to care about their child, someone else usually did. This could have been a teacher, pastor, next door neighbor, friend and the list goes on. Parents were usually a lot more strict in the early days of the United States. Are we raising a spoiled nation of children and is this good for them?
Religion has always been known to discipline someone. The morals from the Bible teach good behavior and so do other books like "Chicken Soup for the Soul" and "Is Life Worth It? Sex, Money and Power from a Psychics Point of view" by Stephen Piperno. You will find that many books out there teach good discipline. You will also notice that you can find healthy ways to teach your kids how to eat properly and that certain foods are not good for them.
Parents are giving into their kids more and more when they want to substitute a snack for an actual meal. We are seeing a 17% increase of weight gain in our kids nation wide. Kids are getting heavier by the day and many parents do not seem to be stopping them. They are fearing that they will be picking on their children if they tell them what to eat.
America has gone through their stages. First it was, "everyone has to love me for who I am" and now its "I am this way because my mother and father made me like this." What will be next? Who are we to blame when our kids start to get diabetes and heart disease at alarming rates?
It is not only the booze and the drinking that is affecting kids today, but it is also the excessive spending and the lack of work ethics that is growing as well. Many kids today are asking their parents for money to buy clothes, food, cars, food and other items. More and more parents are choosing to give their kids whatever they want because they never had these things growing up. Is it good though to give someone everything that they want when they want it?
In the early days of America, people had to always work for what they wanted. Rich people were far and few between. Adults and children had to work alike to get the things that they wanted. These children also grew up to become millionaires and build American businesses. They had discipline and they knew what it was like to put in a hard day of work. Some kids today seem to have the same work ethics. However, it is not the most common thing that you will hear on a daily basis.
In today's society, it is important to teach your kids morals and discipline. If you do not discipline them now, you may find that they are growing up to be spoiled adults that may develop psychological and physical ailments due to bad food and alcahol. Many parents are trying to be their childs friend instead of their parent. This happens when a parent does not have a companion and instead tries to replace their child for their missing partner. This could be hazerdous to the child and to the adult. You must dig deep down inside of yourself and ask yourself why you are doing this and how you could change it. You may want to get a past life regression done by a psychic on infiniteadvice.com or take a walk down "memory lane" to a counselors office. Either way, you have got to get to the bottom of why you are doing what you are doing.
If you want your child to grow up having the best life and good memories childhood, then let them grow up physically strong and emotionally healthy. If you fail to discipline your child, you will see that your hope for them having the best possible life will be diminished. You must ask yourself today why you are allowing your child to do certain things. Is it because you always wanted to do them or is it because you think that your child can make their own decision for themself?
