Should the Bible Be Used as an Educational Textbook?

Look, I am an Atheist. But I have a very open mind to people so whatever I say here please do not take it as a direct attack. The Bible should not, EVER be used as an educational book. Here is why. It is a very hard to follow story. and to teach it publicly would throw allot of parents into an outrage. Simply because most of the people I know, do not want Christians teaching there so called methods to their children. Most people would see that as Brainwashing unless you have already been brainwashed by this book, then you think it is a good guide to the ways of life. My question to you people that actually believe this would be a good book for educational purposes..why? Most of the time people can not even answer a simple question about the bible.

Not only that when you get an answer you will get a different answer from different ministers. Thus, making this book a book of IDEAS. This is not facts, our children should be taught based upon facts that they can identify with, not a long story about how if you do not do good according how this book says, then "your going to burn for an eternity". Who would actually be able to stand behind the way this book, and teach it to children I must ask you, if you have read the bible, and also if you agree with it. Because if you agree with it and think there is actually a talking snake, people are made from dust and all that. I recommend you seek help, This is a good story but it is not educational by no means unless, it is educational to keep people thinking Logic and not fantasy. But I know Logic and religion will never coexist. So I will vote a resounding NO.

This book is nothing more then a man made story. It has gotten blown up over the centuries and then some dumb person started to believe it. If you look back into the time period, back in BC times, those people were not near as intelligent as people now. They also did not agree with having children out of wedlock. Guess what happened if someone did have a child out of wedlock.....They killed them both..

So here is my rationalization of how it started. Jesus' mother basically got pregnant out of wedlock, could not face the truth to her family in fear that they would be killed, so she claims she was a virgin and it is a baby from god. So these narrow minded simple thinkers at the time, actually believed it. So throughout all of Jesus'' life he was told this so he thought it was true, because why would his mother lie to him. well it got blown so out of proportion that here today in the 21st century we have people that still do not believe in evolution, and people that still believe in a talking snake.

So, no this book is a good story, probably be a good movie, but not a good moral life lesson and furthermore should never be inside of a classroom. Thank you and again I am sorry if I offended anyone.
