Should Cholesterol Treatments Be Avoided for the Fear of Side Effects?

New Updater
For the past few years the fear of side effects has created negativity in people towards the conventional treatments and has made many of them to take a shift to the alternate medicine. But, the fact is that basically, whether one should opt for the conventional treatment or not completely depends on how critical the condition is. Yes, it is being argued that these conventional treatments lay certain side effects on the patients, but, it is also true that the number of people who have had any side effects are comparatively very less. Now, let us take the cases where the people suffer from high cholesterol disorders.

It is so obvious that if the patient is in a daunting and critical condition then it is no time for thinking of side effects. Nor is it suggestible that the person should opt for natural ways or alternate medicine. The conventional cholesterol treatments are the only and the perfect solution at such an instance. This decision basically depends on the severity or the urgency of the patient's condition. Then it definitely is not a time to think of the side effects. So there should be no doubt that the conventional cholesterol treatments are meant for such cases.

It is also true that the conventional cholesterol treatments have varied effects with various doses. Not all the medicines have side effects that would make you jump off the treatment. In fact, such side effects have not been noticed that would be counted as major problems.

Many of the patients do have some common complaints after undergoing cholesterol treatments. These complaints are normally not serious and can be temporary. Muscle pain, nausea, headache, abdominal pain and weakness are the most common side effects noticed amongst those few patients who undergo cholesterol treatments.

Some of the drugs that might not be commonly prescribed do have some varied side effects from the above like liver problems, getting cramps and bloating. Of all these drugs that are used under the conventional cholesterol treatments the Statins have been recorded as the safest drug. It has very few side effects and none of them are any critical ones. Some commonly saw effects include the pain in stomach, gas, constipation and cramping problems and very rarely problems with lever.

With Fibrates an effective reduction in the triglycerides and elevation in HDL is seen with commonly reported side effects of diarrhea, stomach pain and some critical problems like anemia, gallstones etc. Resins is the another drug used to regulate cholesterol levels and has reported to have side effects like inflammation in heart, diarrhea/constipation, dizziness, bloating etc. Niacin should be consumed under medical prescription only and the side effects of Niacin include elevated blood sugar levels, liver toxicities, flushed skin etc.

Another important study is that combination of drugs with consumption of certain food intake in some cases can prove to have sudden side effects. So, if your cholesterol levels have not reached the alarming levels then gear up to live a routine which will accommodate regular exercise and healthy diet.
