1994 movie, Time Cop featuring Jean-Claude Van Damme, He played a cop in an elite unit that prevented any movement that had a criminal end. These people were arrested - even before they actually did the crime!
2002 movie, Minority Report featuring Tom Cruise, He too played a cop that hunted and arrested people before they did the crime.
Are we throwing away our Rights and The Constitution?Have all the soldiers in our history died in vein? This is a very serious thing. Our freedom and our right are not free! Blood has been shed for all of us to have them and keep them. We are all innocent until proven guilty. No guessing. No hypotheticals. No jumping to conclusions! Cheerleading is not pornography!
This man, Gilbert Chan, a Business News Reporter for The Sacramento Bee, was off duty and sat in the audience among many others, at a public cheerleading competition. Was it posted that he could not video tape? How does anyone know - maybe he was videotaping for his daughter or niece or someone that could not see it. There are too many what ifs. This may have happened a month ago, but the case is not closed yet.
Someone said that the video camera was somewhat hidden. Well, maybe with his position, he knew he could not tape the event; maybe he still did it for the above reasons. No one knows but him.
You can read the story on www.kcra.com/news/15452125/detail.html
The fact remains that you cannot say that a public cheerleading competition is pornographic. You cannot charge him with having or producing pornographic content or sexual misconduct of persons under the age of 18. I know there is a lot of buzz going on about this case in print, especially online and on air. There is mixed conclusions with it; which comes with a lot of emotional people. Do not let your imaginative or emotional part of your brain deter you away from plain, hard, cold facts. The facts that the authorities have right now is nothing, which means he did not break the law and the DA are not thinking straight. You cannot convict someone because they are suspicious, creepy, or maybe you have a gut feeling or just look guilty.
Do not give away our Rights or continue to nibble away at The Constitution. There are a lot of creepy, and disgusting people out there, but that doesn't mean they break the law. It's like someone thinking about some 17 year old, with very sexual thoughts. Thinking and doing are very different things. It happens all the time, even with people that you would never have thought of. It doesn't mean they actually do it.
Keep track of this case, as will I. There is one site that there are blogs going on about this case and the link is http://www.militaryphotos.net/forums/showthread.php?t=131417, and

Post a CommentIf it is legal for the girls to dance / cheer in public, and if it is legal for people to look at them doing that, than what is the big deal about the girls getting taped? There is NO expectation of privacy in a public place.
