Before you even start to think about choosing your wedding dress, decide on your dress as you will want the dress and jewelery to complement each other. If it is within your budget, you may want to consider having your wedding jewelery custom made. Not only will it make you feel extra special, it will ensure your jewelery is truly part of your whole outfit.
When thinking about wedding jewelery, your first thought is likely to be on your ring. Today, most people are choosing custom-made white gold wedding bands. However, more people are choosing platinum, despite its cost. Yellow gold has somewhat fallen out of favor in recent years but diamonds remain the first choice when it comes to stones.
A custom-made wedding band can be designed in a number of different styles and cuts. The Brillant and Princess cut styles tend to the favorites although thinner rings that have stones set into the band are increasing in popularity. Some brides-to-be are opting for wedding bands with their birthstone or pearls set in as it makes their ring more unique to them. For the buyer on a budget, less costly stones include freshwater pearls or Swarovski crystal.
Even men are opting for a little bling nowadays. Jewellers worldwide have reported a surge in men speaking out to choose their own band. They are even going for small, modest diamonds inlaid around the ring. There is also a growing trend in men's wedding bands for a combination of white and yellow golds. The metals are brushed resulting in a muted look. Anotther popular choice from groom is titanium, which produces a black ring. Men must remember, however, that it is not possible to resize titanium.
Braclets, necklaces and earrings may also feature in your wedding jewelery. It is a good idea to choose these pieces at the same time to ensure they all match. Earrings are particularly popular all year-round, and tiaras with pearls or studded diamonds are very trendy. If you choose a tiara, remember that you can ask your jeweler to create a ring or pendant using the stones from the tiara. There is a huge range of necklace choices. Browsing through some wedding magazines or even your jeweller's portfolio will give you some ideas. Colored pearls are also an option that are especially effective when contrasted with bridesmaid dresses
Obviously much of what you choose will depend on your taste and style. But remember - your wedding day is your special day and your time to sparkle. Stunning jewelery can make for an even more stunning bride so why not shine bright on your wedding day with some extra special jewelery.

Post a CommentI would agree with you on custom made jewelry for the wedding. Wedding bands, wedding and engagement rings, and don't forget the bride on the wedding day in her custom made necklace. One that compliments the dress she spent so much time choosing.
I invite you to check out my upcoming article on advice for the wedding day necklace. Custom made, of course. Pearls. Save the diamonds for the rings.
