Illegal immigration is shaping up to be an important issue in the 2008 election. It is something that our government has been avoiding for a very long time. We are in a crisis. Politicians can no longer avoid this issue. The American public feels very strongly about this issue. States like Texas, New Jersey, and California have very high Hispanic populations, and tensions are rising. Illegal's cant be properly prosecuted for crimes they commit. They work for very low wages. Immigrants are also taken advantage of.
Politicians need to work with Mexico to solve this problem. It is unavoidable. If people are going to come in this country, they need to be tracked. They need to be easily identified in someway. And they shouldn't be rewarded for breaking the law. They shouldn't be punished though. They are coming her for the right reasons most of the time.
Presidential candidates should really attempt to solve this problem, because it will continue to grow. It is unavoidable. Problems like this only become larger when they aren't solved. Americans are sick and tired of politicians who don't bring up this issue. Today, politicians have power, but no longer do anything with it. John Edwards, presidential candidate, is against this plan. So is Barrack Obama. Most conservatives are also against it.
This is yet another illegal immigrant issue . American politicians are not doing all they can to solve these problems. It is unclear what will actually be down to address these issues in the future. The American public better be careful when choosing who they put in the white house next year, because the future could be very tumultuous. At the end of the day, it is very easy for politicians to say what they are going to do. However, we actually need politicians to follow through with their promises with solving things, most notably immigration. It will be interesting to see what happens with this situation in the years to come.
