Should Michigan QB Tate Forcier Transfer to Another School?

Michigan QB Race Talk

Many Michigan fans are now wondering whether Michigan QB Tate Forcier should transfer to another school after he came out third recently in the Michigan QB race.

The QB race was tight, however, with Denard Robinson being named the starter on the Friday night before the Michigan vs. UConn game.

Considering Denard Robinson had a legendary first game performance, perhaps Forcier isn't too far away from being a prime time player.

After all, he started out the 2009 season on fire as a freshman. He came into the 2010 Michigan QB race as a 50-to-1 Heisman shot in some sports betting books.

Now, after the Michigan-UConn game in which Michigan won 30-10, Forcier's status is up in the air. Transfer rumors are sure to start after he was spotted isolated on the bench from his teammates with a towel around his neck.

But here's why Tate Forcier should not transfer from Michigan just yet.

First of all, he needs to keep his head up and not become a distraction. Forcier should play out the year and wait for his shot because injuries happen to QB's a lot in Rich Rodriguez's spread offense.

If he plays well in practice he can supplant freshman backup QB Devin Gardner with ease due to the experience edge.

Then, he just might get his chance. If he pouts and becomes a distraction, less teams will want him in the future. Plus, he knows he can excel as Michigan's leader under center.

Forcier might transfer in the future but for now there are too many opportunities with Michigan to lose focus and give up on the team.
