Should Sheamus Win the United States Championship?

Spy Radio
On the March 7th Episode of Raw Sheamus was defeated by the United States Champion, Daniel Bryan. After losing the match Sheamus got on the microphone and admitted that he has been on a losing streak for the past couple months. He promised the WWE Universe that his losing streak would be over next week, when he becomes the new United States Champion. Sheamus was so confident that he said "Daniel Bryan, what do you say fella? If I don't beat you for the title I'll quit". Bryan accepted the challenge from Sheamus. Now Sheamus will have to make good on his promise of winning the United States Championship if he wants to continue being a Raw superstar.

Hopefully, Bryan can defeat Sheamus and remain United States Champion. Not because I dislike Sheamus, but I feel he is better than the United States Championship. When Sheamus arrived to the WWE he wasted no time working his way to the top. Sheamus defeated John Cena at TLC (Tables, Ladders, and Chairs) by putting him through a table and earning himself his first WWE Championship. Sheamus' second WWE Championship came at Fatal 4-Way when he pinned John Cena during a fatal four way match. After winning two WWE Championships Sheamus went on to become the 2010 King of the Ring.

Sheamus has already accomplished more than some superstars will in their entire careers. For that reason Sheamus should not win the United States Championship. The United States Championship is for mid-card superstars, not main events like Sheamus. Winning the Championship now will be a major set back for Sheamus. Everything that he as accomplished up to this point will be overlooked.

Smackdown is a place where Sheamus would not be overlooked. It would be better for Sheamus to lose and leave Raw. After a few weeks go by Sheamus can reemerge as a Smackdown superstar. Sheamus would fit right in on Smackdown. Smackdown is lacking in the number of main event superstars. Plus they just lost Dolph Ziggler to Raw leaving open a top heel spot on the show.

Sheamus' career in the WWE seems to be dwindling. But Daniel Bryan has been US Champ for a while and his buzz has died. Who Knows.

Great coverage. I don't follow wrestling but I enjoy your write-ups.

He's making a bold move by his declaration of victory. That's scary!!

Sheamus has been buried since winning King of the Ring. I think winning the United States Championship would be a step in the right direction. At the current moment, Sheamus isn't a main eventer.

wrestlers do have an advantage when they get to the UFC, if they are good they can control other fighters on the ground
