No one can deny that Adam Jones is incredibly talented. He has tremendous speed and makes things happen. He is a pretty good defender for his size and helped to improve the Titans secondary when he came to the team. Jones is also a threat on the offensive side of the ball. The Titans have used him on numerous occasions as a receiver. And don't forget the return game. In 2006 Jones had over 1,400 yards on special teams including a TD. His speed makes him one of the top threats in the league when returning kicks.
Pacman's troubles have been very frequent since coming into the league. As of July 2007, Jones had been arrested six times and questioned by police eleven times since arriving in Tennessee. Many fans and analysts have pointed out that he has had more arrests than interceptions since making it into the NFL. The climax of these arrests and troubles came in Las Vegas in February of last year. Jones was involved in an incident at a strip club with an exotic dancer. Jones has become famous for 'making it rain,' as he threw up thousands of dollars in the club. Jones involvement in the Las Vegas incident eventually led to his year long suspension for the 2007 season. Jones has been in and out of trouble his entire NFL career.
It's also important to consider the current state of the Titans when thinking about bringing Pacman back. As talented as he is as a player would the Titans want to bring him back now? Their defense is playing better than it has played in years. Defenders Courtlyn Finnegan and Michael Griffin are young future stars. They are taking their roles in the secondary of Tennessee and playing them well. The team chemistry in Tennessee is better than it has been in years. Would they want to take a chance of Pacman coming back. There is no guarantee he will behave regardless of what he's said or done during his suspension.
Coach Jeff Fisher has been very tight lipped on his opinion on Jones. When asked about Jones return, Fisher focuses on the fact that Jones is suspended for the year, and the team must focus on playing without him. Many fans have interpreted such comments as showing he doesn't want Jones back. Considering how many chances he gave Pacman, and how much criticism he took for his treatment of Jones, this would not be much of a surprise.
The decision on whether or not to bring Pacman Jones back to the Titans will not be an easy one. One thing is for sure however, If Jones makes it back to the team, there will be no room for trouble with the law or crazy strip clip fights, like the ones in his past!
