Many people do this and then regret paying extra for flights. Waiting until the very last minute can be a good way of bagging a bargain flight when there are still empty seats left on the plane to fill.

Are you eligible to cash in frequent flier miles? Then do so, and save even more! Sometimes the best deals do not come at the last minute. But it takes some time and effort to find just the right deals.

If you are doing so simply to save money on flights as you wait for a last minute bargain, this can backfire if prices start to creep back up again during holiday seasons or when schools are out (this is when a lot of prices go back up).
