Should I Wake Up?

Sparkle772
I couldn't wait to go to sleep at night. My favorite part of a day is going to sleep. Entering dream land. I started having this dream during my early teens. The same characters were in each and every dream. The dream was and still is exciting. I have really started to dislike awaking each morning.

I had a long day at the office. I felt tired. I usually get done work late. By the time I get home, I have no choice but to shower and sleep. I hurried home tonight. I felt rather anxious.

I took a nice hot shower and climbed underneath the soft satin sheets that covered my bed. It wasn't long till my mind slipped into my unconscious.

It took a few minutes, but soon I saw him standing off in the distance. The waves were splashing and the sun was starting to set beyond the horizon. He was standing just on the water's edge.

"I have waited ages for you to show up. I am glad you have come here. I want you to follow me."

He was always showing me these fabulous places.

Everything felt and looked so real. I wanted to stay in this world forever. It is perfect, most of the time.

We walked for a while along the shore. I noticed a small, dark cave off in the distance. As we were walking I watched turtles dig in the sand and lay their eggs. I watched some beautiful red and orange birds dancing above the trees. The sand was a lovely shade of beige with some of the most beautiful shells I had ever seen.

When we arrived at the cave entrance, I noticed that the trees had big purple flowers blooming all around them. Little blue humming birds danced happily through their land of nectar. I could see a very dim light inside the cave. I heard nothing. Once we walked a bit into the cave, there was complete silence.

The silence made me slightly uncomfortable, but I knew Armond would not intentionally put me in harms way. I wondered what it would be like waking up each morning next to Armond. I have yet for this to happen; not that I believed it could. I can dream.

"Sit here. I am going to go create some artificial light in the caves. These are caves of crystal and diamond. Beautiful."

I have never seen a cave of diamonds. I saw a cave of crystal on, I think, Discovery Channel or something similar.

Armond was back within a few minutes. He told me to shut my eyes and let him lead the way. I did. As we walked I could hear running water, faintly. I started to hear a weird humming as well. It sounded....evil.

"Open them now."

I did not say a word for a few minutes. I never imagined such a cave. The diamonds were shiny and almost crystal clear. I reached out and grabbed one. I put it into my pocket.

"What is this place Armond? Where do the caves lead?"

"They lead to many places. We are in the caves of differences. But, you do not want to wander too far into these caves. If you get lost, things will find you."

I heard the evil humming again. I made a mental note; 'do not wander around caves alone'. I then heard a loud crashing sound and a faint cry. I walked up to one of the cave entrances and listened for a moment. My heart was in my stomach.

I turned around. Armond was no where in sight. I looked frantically for him. I made my way down the darkest cave. I heard a whimpering from this way. I figured Armond went to check it out.

I must have been in this cave for hours. I had lost my way back to the sandy shore line. I felt as though I kept going deeper and deeper into these cave systems. I tripped over something when I entered another cave. I fell on my knees and my head was making its way near a sharp edge.

I woke up. After a couple minutes....I felt a bit relieved.

This doesn't sound like that much fun. I used to have nightmares so much I actually stopped sleeping. Never watch "body snatchers" as a kid and expect much sleep. Armond sounds intriguing though.
