Should You Wear Popular Name Brand Clothes?
There's a lot of clothing companies who sell affordable clothing that are keeping up with the fashion trends. Have you tried buying clothes on a night market or in the streets? You will be surprised with what you find. Usually vendors are selling fashionable clothing at an affordable price.
Compared to the department store, you can usually find popular name brand clothing that looks like similar to what you've seen on the street. They might have the same style, maybe less in quality, less in price, but they can pass as a fashion trend clothing.
It's still your choice between the popular name brand and cheaper but similar looking products. Fashion trends come and go, so I suggest that you go with the cheaper alternative and try the clothes that are not signature or popular name brand. Most times in life, it's actually the person who carries the clothes and not the clothes who carries the person that signifies you as a cool and trendy person. So even if your clothes are the most expensive in the world but you aren't able to carry it yourself, you'll look like a fool that wasted money.

I think name brand clothes is what create trends. It's what we see on Runways that create the trends we wear today.
