Should the World Abandon Christianity?

With Increasing Problems and Revelations About Christianity, it May Be Ready to Die

The Catholic Church has scammed, stolen, and murdered over its long history. While many believers and nonbelievers of the religion debate over what is real and what is pure fiction, it is known fact that the Church has done everything in its power to scare its followers by portraying its enemies as evil. Christian holidays such as Christmas and Easter are stolen from pagan religions and adapted to rewritten Christian history. Witches, demons, and everything evil are creations of the Christian church. The church turned free thinking women into witches, voo doo into an evil cult, and created the concept of hell to scare its followers into submission. The Church also has a history of selling admissions to Heaven, forcing non-Christians to convert, and amassing insane amounts of money to pay for cover ups, take overs, and near world domination. Despite all this, at the core of not just Catholicism, but all of Christianity, there is a good being done. The Church goers and clergy people come together to get closer to God and build a stronger, morally fortified society. The Church does a lot of good indeed. So is Christianity still the real deal deep down under all the lies and criminal activity?

In the New Testament of the Bible there seem to be a lot of good messages about morality and equality coming from Jesus. His teachings seem legitimate and good hearted, unlike many of the horrible actions performed by the Church. I have been to Catholic school for most of my life and I can tell you that there are a lot of real people who really care about others and use their faith to strengthen their life and relationships. When I entered high school my religious classes were surprisingly logical, involving discussion on what the Bible really says, instead of the literal interpretation. While I have long since abandoned my faith for lack of believability, I have remained a fan of Jesus, whether he was real or not. Here was someone who had something really good to say and taught people how to live properly without hurting others and disrespecting themselves as human beings. Anyone who tries to live this way is certainly doing good and improving society. But still, the politics of the church get in the way. With the recent priest molestation cases, it's evident that the Church is creating major cover-ups. I'm sure if Jesus were around today he would do what he did with the Old Testament, which was explain how some rules of the faith need to be broken in order to make better, more moral decisions.

The concept of the Church in itself as an official organization that governs the entire faith was never meant to be. Nobody was meant to go to official masses and kneel and recite prayers. Of course, the Catholic Church has hidden those original texts for its own benefit. Another ironic feature of the Church is the Canon Law. It protects the Church by stating that priests and other clergy members may lie to protect the Church, even if it means covering up a series of child molestations.

Today it is extremely hard to stay with the Church because it is also quite hard to separate the Church's actions from the actual faith itself. One's relationship with God should not be weakened as a result of the Church's current state. If the Catholic Church crumbles and the religion disbands, true believers will still keep their beliefs and hold their relationship with God close to their heart. With that said, someone needs to fix the Church and the governments of the world need to put pressure on the Church to start cooperating.

The Church also needs major reforms in its traditions and practices. The vast majority of Christians follow the traditions blindly without knowing that almost everything that the Church does is ripped off and derived from other religions. Christmas has nothing to do with the birth of Christ. He was born in the Spring. People also need to realize that just because the certain denominations of the Christianity make certain things out to be evil, doesn't mean that they really are. Halloween is a pagan tradition that simply celebrated the end of the Summer and the beginning of the Fall, harvest season. That's why we use pumpkins for Halloween and the Pilgrims and Indians came together with an abundance of crops for Thanksgiving. In truth the Catholic Church is making huge strides to reeducate its members about what is historically accurate and what is completely farce. But other denominations, especially in the Southern United States, are closed minded and their beliefs are absolute for no rhyme or reason.

It's sad that religion is now a taboo in American culture, as I find a lot of value in religion even though I don't believe in the actual spiritual aspect of it all. It's funny that atheists come together to protest the presence of religion on television and in the government. I don't believe in any religion but I don't really care what, when, or where people include religion, as long as it is done in moderation and it isn't a harmful influence. People need support in their lives and sometimes religion is a great form of support.

  • Pagan figures such as Godesses have been transformed into evil caricatures by the Catholic Church.
  • It is hard to stay faithful and keep a relationship with God when the Church is so hard to trust.
  • Reform is needed in the Church to set facts straight and reevaluate the traditions and teachings.
Halloween originally celebrated the beginning of the harvest season, until the Church campaigned against it and made it seem evil.

When I was a child I saw christians deny people of color the right to servive,to make a so called honest living, a decent education, having to go around back to get spoiled food that was spit in and pay twice what white people payed.then the preacher would tell you to repent, because noah cursed cannan, we were to be servants to shim and japhet. this went on with the helg of the government. by the way nobody in the bible never existed historically. it's a tool of control, that's why christians can terrorise the world then confess to a made up deity, and everything is ok. but rest of us are going to hell for being under the control mentally ill people
