Shout! Factory to Release Season 1 of Ghostwriter on June 8, 2010!

Bridget Ilene Delaney
Imagine if one day you are just going about your business and suddenly your computer screen goes blank and words start appearing or some letters on a poster or a cake just mix up directly in front of your eyes. You have no idea what is happening and there's nobody that is playing a prank on you.

Yet, you figure out that you can communicate with this being by writing because it can tell where people are, but it cannot hear. However, it can read anything, although it may not understand the words, and it communicates to you through writing.

That's exactly what happens for six inner city Brooklyn teens in Ghostwriter.

Ghostwriter is the name they give to the being that can read and write. They start a team and they have a Rally when they need each other, which Ghostwriter lets each of them know, as people who are not on the team cannot see Ghostwriter.

Ghostwriter helps the team solve mysteries and with each mystery solved, the team helps Ghostwriter know who he or she is.

Ghostwriter was produced by the Sesame Workshop and produced by the BBC.

PBS aired Ghostwriter from October 1992 until February 1995. It won a Writer's Guild of American for Best Children's Script. Then, Ghostwriter was syndicated on UPN, ABC, Noggin/The N from 1999 to 2003.

Now, the first season of Ghostwriter is going to be released by Shout! Factory on June 8, 2010!

A whole new generation can enjoy keeping a casebook and following along with the cases - which even have enough pauses that DVDs should not have to be paused in order to keep up with the case.

June 8 2010 means any wanna be junior detectives can be on the case!
