Have you grown up to be responsible? Just as it is important for you to be accountable, it is important for you to teach the kids who are your offspring or students to be accountable. You will learn how to set a good example for children in regard to having responsibility.

The first thing you can do is become a role model. A good way to do this is to take your work seriously.

Another thing you can do is split the household chores with your spouse and the kids. By doing this, you will help your children see the value in everyone splitting up the work.

Part of being responsible is having good preparation. It is helpful to teach your kids to always make sure they have everything they need before doing a task.

Responsibility includes being mature as well as being accountable for whatever you do. You should allow your children to see you take responsibility for your actions.

Teach them that responsible people strive to have an acceptable appearance. You must teach them to always wear neat clothes and not expose their underwear or private parts.

It is vital to show them the importance of becoming informed. Let them see you reading or watching the news.

It is also necessary to demonstrate the need to do your civic duty. You can do this by taking your kids with you when you vote or report for jury duty.

They have to be taught that you have to show regard for others who are in your vicinity. You should let your children see you keep the volume on your radio down and talk quietly on your cell phone in front of others.

It is crucial to make your kids understand they have to focus on having moral values. Instruct them to do the right thing. Let them see you treat everyone with courtesy. Instill in them the principle that you should not do or say anything that is likely to hurt others.

It is essential to show them the value in taking good care of yourself. You should let them see you eat properly, exercise and stay out of trouble.

Show them it is important to think about others in addition to thinking about yourself. You can do this by helping them and others when they need it.

It is vital to demonstrate the importance of using your power wisely instead of abusing it. A great way to do this is to never bully or mistreat your kids or anyone else who is under your authority.

Teach your kids to compete ethically. Let them see you always do your best while not cheating.

Use these ideas to show your children how to be responsible!
