I hurried home to enjoy the comforts of a hot shower and to try the Shower Soothers and see if they lived up to their claim of comfort. I had seen the commercial for the Shower Soothers many times and they looked very promising. The woman in the shower with all the steam and vapors from the Shower Soothers looked to be very comforting. I read the directions on the back of the box of Shower Soothers. They say to simply place a Shower Soother on the floor of the shower for soothing comfort all shower long. This sounded like heaven, I had been dealing with the congestion and pressure for a few days and was ready for a break.
I placed the Shower Soother in the shower and started the water. I could smell the scent of menthol immediately. It was great to be able to smell anything with the way my nose was congested. After entering the shower I was hoping for the steam to be coming from the Shower Soothers like the commercial showed ,but that wasn't the case. So I just turned up the heat of the water and made some of my own steam. The shower Soother lasted for around five minutes and then it was gone .Washed down the drain and all of the great menthol aroma was now a distant memory. I was still left feeling very congested and still had the pressure of my head ready to burst.
The Shower Soothers were a big let down. I was really hoping for the relief and comfort they had promised. Instead I got a menthol fragrance for about five minutes. When one is sick it's a terrible time for a product to fail. You are already feeling bad and to be let down is just insult to injury. The Shower Soothers were very disappointing and I will tell everyone I can not to bother wasting their money. They could get some Vick's and get more relief and comfort then the Shower Soothers provided. If you find yourself sick and congested looking for some relief don't bother with the SudaCare Shower Soothers. They do not provide any relief or comfort only an aroma.

Post a CommentYou seriously thought you were going to see steam???? That would have been a science project gone wrong. I happen to love these things and they work wonders for me and my family. Steam? For real?? I think you expected a tee tee bit too much.

Thank you so much for your comments everyone! I'm stationed in Italy and our PX doesn't sell this product. After reading this article for a good review, I felt really discourage to order this on Amazon. Thank goodness I scrolled down to your comments!. I just want some relief in the morining. Thank you again for your overwhelming positive reviews. ;)
I have to disagree with the article too! I love shower soothers and am grateful CVS Pharmacy has continued to sell their own brand.
I don't understand why you would be concerned with them creating steam since you're using them in a hot shower. And if you don't use them according to directions (placed where the stream of water hits the tablet), they don't work as well.
I have to say I started using these a couple years ago. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THEM!!! No, they don't "create their own steam". Come on people, there is no commercial which displays actual truth in product functioning. You should have learned that a long time ago as a kid with toys. My point is, take the product for what it is. I used them when I would be congested in the morning and needed to get ready for work. They lasted about 10 minutes and cleared me up so quick! It's not like using a vaporizor all night long, but they work great for trying to get going in the mornings when you must go to work or take care of kids and just cant breathe. So worth it.
Here is my recipe for "Sinus Soup" and of course the name is not too appealing but I make this for my 14 year old son when he has sinus congestion. It is simple, takes ten minutes to make and I guarantee you will get relief from that sinus congestion.
Spicy Soup
7 cups of hot water
1 pat of butter
3 cubes "caldo de pollo" (mexican style chicken boullion; low sodium high flavor)
1 tiny pinch each of oregano, cayenne or red pepper, black pepper and 1/8 tsp fresh garlic
Bring this conncoction to a rolling boil and stir in 7 oz. of mini elbow noodles. Reduce to slow boil and cook uncovered for about four minutes. Turn off the heat and let the soup rest for another four minutes or so. Ladle a generous portion into a wide soup bowl and serve piping hot. Garnish with a little grated cheese if you like.
Sit with your face over the bowl, kleenex at the ready-inhale the steam as you sip your soup.
It makes my son feel special and relieves his discomfort naturally. Note: This is NOT r

This product is great!!!!! My son and I have used this for a couple of years now and it works great for sinus flare ups. I gave my son some for Christmas in his stocking, because he couldn't find them in Tennessse. His girlfriend used one when they were up here because she was getting a cold. Needless to say before they headed back south they picked up more. Remember folks the person writing this artice could be anyone of you with an opinion. Try the product before you go with someone else thoughts unless you are the type that likes others to tell you what to do.
