Shrimp Creole
1/2 cup of Onions, chopped
1 small Garlic clove, chopped
1/2 cup of Celery, chopped
4 Sprigs of Parsley, chopped
1 Bell Pepper, chopped
3 Tablespoons of Olive Oil
2 Tablespoon of Flour
1 small can of Tomato Paste
1 can of Tomatoes
1 1/2 Cups of Water
1/2 Teaspoon of Worcestershire sauce
1/2 Teaspoon of Cayenne or to taste
Salt to taste
1 pound of Shrimp peeled and deveined. (I always just get the kind that is frozen in the bag that is deveined and peeled. Saves alot of time and I have never heard a complaint, not to mention it is more budget friendly)
Saute onions, celery, garlic parsley, and bell pepper in the Olive oil until limp. Add the flour and make sure you stir constantly not allowing it to burn, do this until it browns slightly. Add shrimp and stir until pink. Next you will add tomato paste, tomatoes, worcestershire sauce, water, salt and Cayenne. Stir all together and allow it to cook for around 30 minutes. Serve over rice and enjoy! This is suitable for freezing and serves around 8.
